TEXAS WAGE AND HOUR LAWYER
Hi, I'm Brittaney.
I’m a wage and hour lawyer fighting for essential workers who’ve been shortchanged by their employers. My mission is simple: to ensure workers recover every dollar they’re owed and to hold employers accountable when they try to steal wages.
Truth be told, I didn’t go to law school planning to do this work. My childhood dream was to be a criminal defense attorney. But during law school, I clerked for a federal judge & was assigned to a wage theft trial that changed everything.
It involved a crew of undocumented landscapers who had been denied their overtime pay. When they demanded what they were owed, their boss threatened to call ICE on them. Of course, they were scared, but they still fought back—and won.
Witnessing their courage and the relief that came with the verdict, I realized that was the kind of work I was meant to do.

HOW I LEARNED EVERY EMPLOYER TRICK IN THE BOOK
Right work, wrong side
After law school, I built my career in employment & labor law. I started in the public sector, moved to one of the largest labor & employment law firms in the world, and then served as in-house counsel to Southwest Airlines.
For nearly 10 years, I was on the defense side helping employers avoid legal trouble. I learned wage and hour law inside and out: every loophole, every defense, and every tactic employers use to avoid fairly paying workers.
But I also learned something unsettling: some companies have no problem announcing “record profits” while pocketing their employees’ pay. Even though they had the money to pay their people, they chose not to. And too often, they wanted me to help them get away with it. That just didn’t sit right with me.

FROM DEFENDING EMPLOYERS TO SUING THEM
Right work, wrong side
Helping companies get away with ripping off workers felt like standing on the wrong side of justice. So I switched sides and founded Davis Employment Law.
Today, I take everything I learned defending employers and use it to fight for essential workers. For me, this work is not about billable hours or corporate wins. It is about standing up for workers—just like you—who deserve respect, dignity, and every dollar you’ve earned.
As your wage and hour lawyer, I’ll bring the insider knowledge from my defense work to your case and fight to recover every dollar you’re owed.
